“Mylopotamos Land 2017” - An exhibition - institution! Art - Culture - Production

For the 4th successive year the Cultural Training Association of Perama organized under the auspices of the Region of Crete and the Municipality of Mylopotamos the exhibition- institution: “Mylopotamos Land”.

The Peramos exhibition of Rethymno lasted from August 11th to August 13th 2017 and the aim was to highlight and promote the local culture by connecting it to the primary sector, processing and tourism in a unified platform of development of the region’s positive points.

Cultural associations and artists highlighted the modern dynamics that Mylopotamos develops in arts and literature through diverse actions and initiatives.

The exhibition included Kiosks of Cultural Associations per settlement that displayed the village’s history, the monuments, the natural environment and the actions of the body. Producers’ Kiosks that use as raw material products of the Mylopotamos land, presenting their productive dynamics they develop in the local, domestic and also international market. Authentic products of the Cretan land, rusks, honey, apaki, raki and much more, were the ones that caused a sensation, and also Kiosks of Artists & Creators that cover a wide spectrum of artistic production on all levels of the arts. Apart from the exhibitors’ kiosks, the exhibition included also rich events and actions, such as demonstration of pottery construction by the Cultural Association of Margarites, soap making by Mr. Plevrakis Manolis, the making of a little furnace with wood by the cultural association of Agyia and concerts with Michalis Tzouganakis and Manos Malaxianakis. Presentation of Cretan dances by the musical bands of the dance schools of Mylopotamos.

The Provoli expo company, present for one more year in this great feast of Mylopotamos, installed, for the exhibition needs, Pagodas and exhibition equipment, so that the exhibitors be accommodated. More specifically, Pagodas of the sizes of: 5x5m and 2,5x3,5m, of German construction and according to European standards. The exhibition equipment included kiosks’ structure (partitions) made of aluminum frame with electrostatic paint, shelves, chairs, tables and information stands.
